Current Application of the mangos method
Welcome to The Karnwood Project! This is where we document what a real-life renovation looks like. We update this page quite frequently so come back to see where we are in the process.

The House
September 2019, we found this gem on the market! A 3 bedroom bungalow with lots of backyard space. It was a vacant property with an unfinished basement with separate entrance. Right at St Clair and Pharmacy, the location was also perfect. blablablablabla We want to show you how our renovation has been going so far!
Here are some photos of the property right when we purchased —>
the “Before”
To quote Blaine when he saw this property for the first time:
"This is a blank space. The basement is exposed. So much to do here. Love it!!"
<— Here’s footage of what it used to look like

The floor plan is in!
Framing
This is a term commonly used to describe the stage when we involve a carpenter to come in and build the guts of the walls, ceilings and floors🔨 When you look at a finished wall and see a thing of beauty, what isn't visible is the loads of wood (commonly 2x4 - or "2 by 4s") called studs that are placed vertically every 16 inches. Watch the video to see what it looks like!
upstairs
We've shown you the basement and what's going on there, but we wanted to reveal what the upstairs looks like at the moment. So much potential!
